Capital Analytics Business Sentiment Survey

Methodology Overview:

Analyzing Regional Business Sentiment

Capital Analytics Associates conducts a quarterly comprehensive survey aimed at capturing nuanced insights into regional business sentiment among leaders in the U.S. northern and southern regions. The data collected is utilized for quarterly analyses, contributing to informed research outcomes. Participants are assured of anonymity, and the aggregated results are shared with an audience of 1.72 million readers.

Methodology:

Sampling:

To uphold the credibility of our survey, a sampling strategy has been devised. Participants will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Currently holding a senior leadership position in their respective organizations.
  • Having maintained their leadership position for a minimum of three months.
  • Located in a region with a population exceeding 10,000 people.
  • Willingness to actively participate in the survey.

Data Collection:

Our surveys are administered via Zoom interviews as well as online and offline written collections, ensuring various channels to meet leaders at their convenience and gather pertinent viewpoints. The survey encompasses five close-ended questions on the regional economy and their business/organization’s operations. Each response is given on a scale from 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest). Participants’ open-ended comments on the regional economy and their business/organization’s operations may be incorporated into the quarterly analyses – omitting any personal information from the surveyed respondent. They will not be explicitly informed of any quotes used in the survey analysis. Closed-ended questions will facilitate quantitative analysis, while open-ended inquiries will add value to the findings with qualitative insights.

Data Analysis:

A two-fold analysis approach will be employed, with statistical methods applied to closed-ended questions to unveil trends and patterns and qualitative methods used on open-ended responses to identify themes and add context. The amalgamated results will be compiled into quarterly reports, presenting a comprehensive summary of the survey findings.

Ethics:

The survey upholds the anonymity of participants and manages the collected data with utmost confidentiality. The reporting of results will adhere to professional and unbiased standards, with the primary objective of delivering valuable insights to the readership.
