Jacksonville’s Moment: Can Florida’s largest city rival Miami?

For decades, when business leaders and investors considered Florida’s top economic hubs, their eyes turned south — toward Miami, Tampa or Orlando. Jacksonville rarely made the list. But according to one industry analyst, that is beginning to change.

“Jacksonville is certainly a market that is leaning into opportunity,” said Abby Lindenberg, founder and CEO of Capital Analytics Associates, a Miami-based business intelligence firm that tracks economic trends across the country.

Her firm studies nearly 20 metropolitan areas, from Boston to Houston, compiling data-driven reports on business climates and growth trajectories. Jacksonville, she said, is emerging as one of the most promising.
