Invest: Greater Fort Lauderdale leadership summit to highlight public-private partnerships, digital transformation

April 2025 — The Broward business community will convene at the Invest: Greater Fort Lauderdale 7th Edition Leadership Summit on Thursday, June 5, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Riverside Hotel. The networking and panel event marks the launch of the seventh edition of caa’s comprehensive report on Broward County’s key industries.

The conference will bring together top industry and community leaders to discuss the business environment, challenges and growth strategies of their companies and organizations. The event serves an important purpose in connecting key stakeholders across industries to build partnerships and address the primary issues facing the Greater Fort Lauderdale community.

We’ve seen South Florida grow tremendously over this period and look forward to gathering key leaders to hear how they are planning for future growth in one of the most desirable locations in the United States.”

Registration starts at 8:00 AM, followed by an hour-long networking session accompanied by a full breakfast.
The first panel, “Partnership Power: Examining the Role of Strategic Alliances in Shaping South Florida’s Future, From Ports and Public Works to Tourism, Transit and the Regional Innovation Economy,” will feature Anthony Cordo, executive vice president of Visit Lauderdale, Josh Levy, mayor of the City of Hollywood, Joseph Morris, CEO and port director of Port Everglades, and Sandy-Michael McDonald, director of the Broward County Office of Economic and Small Business Development. The panel will be moderated by Sidney Calloway, partner and governmental affairs co-chair at Shutts & Bowen LLP.

The second panel, “Digital Transformation: How South Florida’s Business and Civic Leaders Are Embracing Digital Tools to Streamline Operations, Upskill Talent and Stay Competitive in an Increasingly Tech-Driven Economy,” will include Vera Nieuwland, director of digital transformation services at Kaufman Rossin, Ron Moffett, executive vice president of administration at CareerSource, Romney Rogers, managing partner at RMZ Law | Rogers, Morris & Ziegler LLP, and Michael Platner, managing director at Lewis Brisbois. Jonathan Osborne, managing shareholder for Greater Fort Lauderdale at Gunster, will moderate the panel.

The third and final panel, “Forging Ahead: What the Next Era of Banking Means for Real Estate Development in Broward County,” will feature Brett Atkinson, president of South Florida at Moss, Navish Chawla, chief investment officer at Hernandez Construction & Development, and an executive from City National Bank. Lindenberg will moderate the final panel of the morning.
