New Advanced Wound Care Center coming to Tampa Bay this fall

August 2025 — Tampa Bay, known as a national beacon for the healthcare industry, was recently lauded with several Best Hospital rankings by U.S. News & World Report. With only 13% of hospitals evaluated earning a designation, Tampa General Hospital, Moffitt Cancer Center, and Sarasota Memorial Hospital, among others, earned accolades. This fall, the Tampa Bay region is set to add another top-notch healthcare facility to its ranks.
With the increased demand for comprehensive wound healing in Florida’s coastal communities, PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Sarasota is preparing to open the 3,000-square-foot Advanced Wound Care Center. By delivering specialized care based on the latest clinical research, the center will offer treatment for patients battling chronic, complex, and non-healing wounds.
“This center represents our commitment to healing, innovation, and quality,” said medical director and renowned plastic surgeon Michael Van Vliet in a press release. “Our focus
is wound healing and tissue regeneration, delivered through a personalized, interdisciplinary approach that supports faster recovery and reduces the risk of complications.”
The new clinic will offer patients a streamlined experience supported by advanced clinical technologies and interdisciplinary collaboration. Wound healing will be the primary focus of the facility, combining evidence-based modalities, regenerative biologies, and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) to speed up tissue recovery, reduce hospitalizations, and prevent infection or limb loss. Offerings for the PAM Health Advanced Wound Care Center will include HBOT, Negative Pressure Wound Therapy, and Bioengineered Skin Substitutes, among others.
“Chronic wounds impact nearly 7 million Americans and 1 in 4 families,” said Brittany Misitano, president of PAM Health. “We are proud to bring this level of care to Sarasota, offering our community the clinical excellence and compassion they deserve, close to home.”
