Charlotte leaders to highlight pivotal projects and partnerships at Invest: Charlotte 5th Edition summit
January 2025 — Charlotte’s economic trajectory is among the most exciting developments in the United States in recent years. From banking and healthcare to real estate and construction, the region has become synonymous with growth and leaders across industries are sending a message: Invest.
On Tuesday, March 4, at the Booth Playhouse at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, regional executives and officials will gather from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. for the Invest: Charlotte 5th Edition leadership summit, where key stakeholders can network while also strengthening and building relationships with the individuals driving the Queen City forward.

The summit will kick off with a breakfast and networking hour from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., followed by an opening keynote speech from Blumenthal Arts President and CEO Tom Gabbard. Three carefully selected panels will be held from 9:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., which will cover technology’s increasing role in banking and finance, how new partnerships and workforce development programs are bolstering healthcare, and the development landscape in Charlotte shaping the rest of the decade.
Invest: Charlotte leadership summit
The first panel, “Tech overload: How technology in financial services presents opportunities and risks, and how leaders are navigating the future,” will feature leadership from Comerica Bank and panelists including Ron Everett, Eastern United States servicing leader at Synchrony, Ted Wolfe, president of TowneBank Charlotte, and Leigh Hayes, national tax partner at Forvis Mazars Group.
Following a conversation on technology, the second panel, titled “Greater access: Healthcare and education leaders’ strategies for expanding healthcare access through partnerships and workforce programs,” will explore the intersection of healthcare and higher education. Speakers include Caroline Warren, head of the Charlotte office at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC, Mark Collins, chief strategy officer at OneHealth, and Delta Dental of North Carolina Chief Science Officer Jeffery Johnston.
Closing out the event, the final panel, “Charlotte 2030: What’s in store for Charlotte real estate over the second half of the decade, and how industry leaders are taking action,” will dive into the projects transforming the state’s most populous city and outlying communities. Moderated by Bobbi Jo Lazarus, real estate shareholder at Elliott Davis, panelists include Zach Pannier, business unit leader at DPR Construction, Copper Builders CEO Tim Pratt, and William Haygood III, managing partner at Boundary Street Advisors.
