What are your immediate priorities as the newly named CEO for Alan B. Miller Medical Center?
At Alan B. Miller Medical Center, we are not just constructing a building—we are creating an organization from the ground up. This includes recruiting and onboarding a talented team of employees and physicians, establishing a robust medical staff, and ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements across all departments. Our focus is on laying a strong operational and cultural foundation that will position us as a leading healthcare facility in Palm Beach County. With our opening scheduled for April 2026, the effort involves extensive coordination, strategic planning, and a shared commitment to excellence. It’s a significant undertaking, but one that reflects our vision to deliver exceptional care and innovation to the community.

How are you evaluating your talent attraction and recruitment strategies?
As the population continues to grow, so does the demand for accessible, high-quality healthcare — and that demand plays a vital role in the economic health of the region. Alan B. Miller Medical Center is proud to be contributing to that growth by creating more than 800 jobs within the community. To support this, we’ve launched an aggressive and strategic recruitment campaign, leveraging a wide range of digital platforms and outreach efforts. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with over a thousand applications received to date from candidates both locally and from out of state. Despite industry-wide staffing challenges, we’re seeing strong interest from professionals who are excited about the opportunity to help shape a new organization from the ground up. We’ll continue to expand our efforts through job fairs and targeted outreach, all with the goal of building a strong, values-driven culture rooted in excellence.

What current trends are shaping the healthcare sector in Palm Beach County?
Palm Beach County continues to be a highly desirable destination for relocation, with significant growth—particularly in the northern region. As families and individuals move into the area, healthcare remains a top priority alongside education and housing. The availability of quality medical services is a key factor in their decision-making process.
We’re proud that Mr. Alan B. Miller, the founder and owner of our organization, is not only deeply committed to healthcare but also a resident of Palm Beach County himself. His personal investment in the community reinforces our mission to meet the growing demand for exceptional care.
As expectations for healthcare continue to rise, we are focused on delivering services at the highest level. Our goal is to build a trusted institution that reflects the values and needs of the people we serve.

What goes into serving the different demographics that live in the county?
When patients walk into a hospital, they want to feel confident that they’re receiving comprehensive, high-quality care with access to the services they need. At Alan B. Miller Medical Center, we’re building those services from the ground up — with a clear plan to expand and evolve in alignment with the needs of our community and physician partners.
Our approach is collaborative and forward-thinking. We’re actively engaging with the medical community to assess service gaps and opportunities, while also partnering with academic institutions to support education, training, and workforce development.
We’ve developed a detailed roadmap for the next three to five years that outlines how we intend to position the hospital for long-term success. While it will take time, we’re committed to doing it right — establishing a strong foundation and a culture of excellence that will serve Palm Beach County for generations to come.

What will differentiate your operations from other healthcare peers?
Service and quality will be our defining strengths. At Alan B. Miller Medical Center, we are intentionally building a culture where people are proud to work, where physicians are inspired to practice, and where patients feel confident and cared for. While state-of-the-art facilities and advanced technologies are important, it’s ultimately the people who make the difference.
Our top priority is cultivating a team that is deeply committed to excellence in every interaction. By focusing on service and quality at every level, we aim to set a new standard for healthcare in Palm Beach County—one that consistently delivers the very best experience for our patients, staff, and medical partners.

What are among the key challenges facing the industry currently?
One of the most pressing challenges in healthcare today centers around rising patient expectations. People want timely, high-quality care—and rightly so. To meet those expectations, we must also address foundational issues like workforce housing. As a service-driven industry, healthcare depends on attracting and retaining skilled professionals, which requires access to affordable housing in Palm Beach County. This is a critical issue, and we’re encouraged by the efforts of county leaders and stakeholders who are actively working on solutions.
At Alan B. Miller Medical Center, we’re committed to being part of that conversation and part of the solution. We have the depth of talent needed to deliver exceptional care, but we must continue to support our workforce in meaningful ways.
Technology will also play a key role in shaping the future of healthcare. We’re exploring how artificial intelligence can enhance every aspect of our operations—from clinical workflows to administrative efficiency. There are many promising platforms under evaluation, and we see this as a powerful opportunity to innovate.
That said, the human touch remains irreplaceable. No matter how advanced our tools become, compassion, empathy, and personal connection will always be at the heart of great care.

How are you evaluating serving the community needs for mental and behavioral health?
Universal Health Services (UHS), the parent organization of our operations, has a deep and longstanding commitment to behavioral health. With a portfolio of over 300 behavioral health facilities across 39 states, UHS brings extensive expertise and resources to this critical area of care.
While Alan B. Miller Medical Center will not have dedicated behavioral health beds on-site, we are fully integrated into a broader network of sister hospitals that specialize in behavioral health services. This allows us to seamlessly coordinate care and ensure patients receive the support they need. Collaboration across facilities is a core part of our approach, and we are well-positioned to leverage UHS’s national capabilities to serve our community effectively.

What is your outlook for the local healthcare sector in the near future?
Palm Beach County is a highly attractive and rapidly growing region, particularly in healthcare. The momentum here is unique—there’s significant interest from external health systems looking to establish a presence, which speaks volumes about the county’s potential. This level of competition is not only healthy, but it also drives innovation and elevates the standard of care across the board.
Alan B. Miller Medical Center is well-positioned to be a key player in this evolving landscape. As the community continues to grow, so will the demand for advanced healthcare services. In the near future, a comprehensive healthcare asset map will highlight the full spectrum of hospitals and medical investments across the county. We’re proud to be part of that transformation and committed to contributing meaningfully to the region’s healthcare infrastructure.
