Invest: Greater Orlando conference now taking place Nov. 7 following Hurricane Milton

IORD24 Book Cover October 2024 In light of the devastation caused by Hurricane Milton, Capital Analytics’ in-person Invest: Greater Orlando launch conference will now take place Thursday, Nov. 7, allowing the community time to recover. The rescheduled event will run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Inter&Co Stadium’s West Club.

Our thoughts are with those affected by the storm, and we remain committed to providing a platform that highlights the strength and resilience of the Greater Orlando region as it continues to thrive in the face of challenges. As Central Florida emerges from this period of recovery, the conference will offer a timely opportunity to discuss the innovative forces driving the region’s growth in sectors such as tech, manufacturing, and aerospace.

Check-in for the conference will begin at 8 a.m. in conjunction with a light breakfast and networking session. The event will start at 9 a.m. with opening remarks by Capital Analytics President & CEO Abby Lindenberg, followed by an opening speech from Florida Blue Central FL Market President Tony Jenkins and three panel discussions about innovation, development, and education and workforce.

The first panel, ‘How Florida’s leaders are harnessing technology to propel growth, and the challenges associated with staying ahead of the curve,’ will be moderated by Jarrod Dillon, president of business operations at Orlando City Soccer Club/Orlando Pride/INTER&CO Stadium. Panelists will include Sharon Arroyo, vice president, government and community relations at Duke Energy Florida; Andrew Duffell, president of Research Park at Florida Atlantic University; Stephen Fussell, vice president and chief strategy officer, Orlando Sanford Airport; and Andrew Molosky, president and CEO of Chapters Health System.

The second panel, ‘Crafting communities: The blueprint for Orlando’s next generation of sustainable living and considerations for complex projects to be successful in 2024 and beyond,’ will be moderated by Brock Shrader, president of Wilson & Girgenti, Panelists include Beat Kahli, president and CEO of Avalon Park Group, Matt Charlan, principal and director of business development at CBA Architects, and Robert Thorne, CEO and founder of Urban Network Capital Group.

The final panel, ‘Knowledge economy: Strategies for aligning education with Central Florida’s traditional and emerging economic needs, and the hurdles to overcome,’ will be moderated by Anil Menon, dean at the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College. Speakers will include John Kiss, senior vice president for academic affairs and provost at Florida Institute of Technology; Dave Buckles, president of Foundation Academy; Laura Byrd, interim president of Lake-Sumter State College; and James Michael Burkett, President, NUC University Florida Technical College (NUC FTC).

Nearly 200 high-level executives and officials from the Central Florida region are expected to attend our first in-person annual conference for the Greater Orlando market.
