Annual leadership summit to highlight transit improvements, industry collaboration
September 2024 — Atlanta’s emergence as a national leader and regional growth will be central themes at the official Focus: Atlanta Launch Conference. The event, which will take place on Oct. 14 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the High Museum of Art, will celebrate the official release of Capital Analytics’ sixth edition of Focus: Atlanta.
During the launch of Focus: Atlanta, local industry and community leaders will come together to discuss the region’s business climate, how they are leveraging its inherent economic strengths to ensure long-term prosperity for all and what the future of the region entails. The event will feature three panel discussions that will center on the impact of transit within the real estate landscape, education and workforce development, and driving regional economic expansion in Greater Atlanta.

Check-in at the conference will begin at 8 a.m. with a breakfast networking hour. The opening remarks will begin at 9 a.m by Lindenberg, followed by three robust panel discussions.
The first panel, ‘Beyond the BeltLine: The impact of transportation infrastructure on Atlanta’s real estate boom, what’s in the pipeline, and what more is needed?’ is set to feature Collie Greenwood, CEO of MARTA; Nancy Flake Johnson, CEO of the Urban League of Atlanta; Brian McGowan, CEO of Centennial Yards; and Jarel Portman, founding chairman of JPX Works as panelists.
The second panel, ‘Impact and Excellence: The evolving role of higher education in shaping top talent and the city’s future’ will be moderated by Eloisa Klementich, CEO of Invest Atlanta, and includes speakers such as Georj Lewis, president of Clayton State University; Sarah Higgins, president of Herzing University; and Michael Thurmond, CEO of Dekalb County.
The final panel, ‘Banking on Growth: How Atlanta’s financial sector Is driving regional economic expansion’ will be moderated by Lindenberg and will feature panelists Barry McCarthy, president and CEO of Deluxe Corporation; Al McRae, president of Bank of America Atlanta; and Laura King, CEO of Georgia United Credit Union.
Hundreds of high-level guests and officials from across the Greater Atlanta area are expected to attend the in-person conference.
