Invest: Philadelphia fifth anniversary edition to highlight transformative projects, new leadership

2 min read  March 2024 — Philadelphia and Southeastern Pennsylvania are in the midst of transformative change as new city and regional leadership sets its sights on a jam-packed agenda of priorities and major events in the coming years. Discussions driving the future growth of the region and more will be shared at the upcoming Invest: Philadelphia fifth anniversary edition Launch Conference, taking place at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown on Friday, April 26 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The launch event will gather more than 200 public and private sector leaders from across Greater Philadelphia’s major industries with a vested interest in seeing the local economy and business community prosper amid current economic headwinds.

“On a global level, Philadelphia holds not only an incredible amount of historical significance but also economic significance as the birthplace of the United States in the lead up to the semiquincentennial in 2026,” said Capital Analytics President and CEO Abby Lindenberg, who will present the conference’s opening words. “We are excited to be releasing our fifth edition of Invest: Philadelphia, providing in-depth, digestible business intelligence for a market in which vitality and excitement are common themes among local leaders.”

Invest: Philadelphia 2023-2024 provides a comprehensive view of the region’s economic potential and the challenges accompanying that potential from the perspective of approximately 200 local leaders and elected officials.

This year’s report focuses on the region’s key industries, including education, healthcare and life sciences, banking and finance, real estate and construction, while considering the impact of higher interest rates and affordability concerns among residents.

The first panel of the conference, “Action plan: The initiatives underway in Philly’s eds and meds sector to create positive outcomes for students and patients,” will discuss how the area’s key industries of higher education, life sciences and healthcare are empowering communities and supporting the growth in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Leaders from The Wistar Institute, Temple University Health System, Neumann University, and Salus University will join the panel.

The second panel, “Fresh takes: The strategies behind staying relevant in 2024 and how organizations are working to meet evolving demands,” will explore the economy today and the way businesses and organizations are adjusting to perform at a high level. BFW Construction Project Managers, NRG, and Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board will be speaking on this panel.

The third and final panel, “Worker mindset: A transformative workforce paradigm and the strategies to capture success in the current landscape,” will assess the needs and demands of workers today and how companies and organizations are making the workplace an environment where everyone can thrive. Speakers from Comcast Business, Montgomery County, UnitedHealthcare, and CliftonLarsonAllen will lead the discussion.
