3 min read March 2024 — Code Ninjas, the world’s largest and fastest-growing coding franchise for kids, is relocating its headquarters from Houston to Atlanta. This move underscores the city’s allure to tech companies and startups alike.

As parents and guardians increasingly recognize coding as an essential skill for their children’s future success, the company catering to kids and teens aged 5 to 15 has experienced significant growth. It continues to promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills through camps and after-school programs.

Code Ninjas CEO Navin Gurnaney expressed excitement about moving to the Atlanta Metro area, as it is a centrally located hub. The decision to relocate its executive operations to Peachtree Corners highlights both the company’s dedication to expansion and innovation, as well as the city’s growing appeal as a tech and innovation hub. Demonstrating this commitment, the company, with over 300 locations in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada, is planning to open an additional 150-200 locations worldwide by 2026.

Atlanta’s tech ecosystem is thriving, thanks to concerted efforts by city leaders and the private sector to foster innovation and attract tech talent. Mayor Andre Dickens’ ambitious goal to position Atlanta as a top 5 tech hub in the country is supported by initiatives aimed at promoting equitable growth and connecting resources within the tech community. The city’s Office of Technology & Innovation, under Sr. Tech Advisor Donald Beamer, is instrumental in changing perceptions and making Atlanta a welcoming place for tech companies and startups. This effort aligns with the mayor’s strategy to harness the city’s diverse talent pool, a point he emphasized during Valor’s annual VC DAY event.

President Leocadia Zak of Agnes Scott College echoes this sentiment, highlighting the collaborative spirit driving innovation in Atlanta. “There is a great deal of collaboration focused on innovation and how colleges and universities can help provide a prepared workforce that can continue to innovate and take Atlanta to the next level,” she shared in an interview with Focus:. “I see Atlanta as an education hub that feeds into the local economy. We are an institution that prepares diverse students to lead in their workplaces, communities, and the world.”

Invest Atlanta showcases the city’s vibrant startup scene with 2,257 verified startups, 151 venture capital investors, and over 4,000 funding rounds since 2010. The strategic focus on changing perception, adding measurements, and connecting resources is pivotal in Atlanta’s quest to become a leading tech hub.
