Ecotourism: Greater Orlando’s sustainable adventure 2 min read April 2024 — In the evolving landscape of tourism with rising costs and crowded places, the Greater Orlando region’s natural green spaces provide an inviting change of pace for travelers and local residents.

Ecotourism is a form of travel that intertwines adventure with environmental consciousness. Playing a pivotal role in shaping relationships with the natural world and championing the protection of the planet’s delicate ecosystems, ecotourism encourages responsible travel to pristine natural areas. The global ecotourism market was valued at $160 billion in 2022 and is projected to reach nearly $600 billion by 2030, according to Fortune Business Insights.

“Not only is ecotourism profitable for Central Florida, but it is a wonderful way to get people to connect with and understand the importance of protecting and preserving wild places. When you experience the beauty of nature, you can’t help but appreciate and care about it more.,” Richard Glover, CEO of the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens, told Invest:. His organization has found ways to partner with the community on initiatives like waterway and beach cleanups to care for the local environment.

Greater Orlando offers several ecotourism destinations for tourists and locals alike to enjoy while learning about how the region prioritizes sustainability and preservation of Florida’s natural beauty.
