2 min read August 2023 — Cooper University Health and Inspira Health have once again partnered, announcing Cooper and Inspira Neurosciences on Monday.

The new partnership aims to continue the history of collaboration between the two organizations by expanding access to care and providing a suite of advanced neurological treatments, including surgical and nonsurgical services for conditions impacting the brain, spinal cord and central nervous system, as well as specialties in neurology, neurosurgery, neuro oncology, neuropathology, neurophysiology and neuropsychology.

“Cooper and Inspira Neuroscience expands not only the cooperation of two respected health systems, but the access patients across the region will have to some of the best specialists in the world and innovative treatments,” said George Norcross, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Cooper Health System, Cooper University Hospital, and MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper in a press release.

The partnership will benefit patients across Southern New Jersey and the Greater Philadelphia region, with treatment available for a number of ailments including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, stroke, brain injuries and tumors, headaches, spine and other neurological issues.

In an interview with Invest: South Jersey 2022-2023, Amy Mansue, CEO of Inspira Health, noted that, “We are seeing an aging population, which is putting pressure on healthcare across the board. We are also seeing tremendous growth in our orthopedic, cardio, and neuro programs.”

The Cooper and Inspira Neuroscience partnership builds on a number of collaborations that both organizations have pursued in recent years, both with each other and local stakeholders. Cooper and Inspira Cardiac Care is entering its sixth year, and in 2022 Inspira implemented its Premier Partnership with Rowan College of South Jersey to provide a steady stream of talent.

“By integrating care between our two health systems, we are enhancing access to highly coordinated comprehensive patient care that includes prevention, diagnosis, treatment and healing for the full spectrum of brain, spine and nerve diseases, conditions and disorders,” said Mansue in a statement.

Inspira maintains three hospitals, two comprehensive cancer centers, eight multi-specialty health centers, and a number of additional locations and physician practices throughout South Jersey. Cooper University Health is an academic health system and level I trauma center located in Camden, New Jersey.

“We have proven with Cooper and Inspira Cardiac Care that our teams can successfully collaborate to provide the highest level of cardiac care, and we are confident the same will be true for patients needing the most advanced neurological care,” said Mansue.
