2 min read August 2023 — With Labor Day only a few days away, the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is flush with options to celebrate the long weekend. From parades to jazz festivals, Invest: explores the bevy of celebrations available to residents and visitors over the next five days.

And as these Labor Day celebrations are about to begin across the metroplex, Local officials are encouraging everyone to be safe as festivities get underway, as a recent report by insurance agency Jerry highlighted that Dallas is the second highest city in the country for driving fatalities during the Labor Day holiday, coming in right after Los Angeles. Texas also comes in second at the state level, following California. Despite this, there are a number of family-friendly options – and some distinctly Texan, that folks can enjoy.

The event will feature bands, cheerleaders and drill teams from all seven Garland Independent School District high schools as well as the elementary and middle schools.
