2 min read August 2023 —Palm Beach County’s business community is booming, with families and business executives relocating to the area. While there have been many large companies moving their operations, small businesses are also finding success within the county. 

Palm Beach County is known for its welcoming business environment due to its low taxes and its lack of personal state income tax. It’s small and local businesses are known to flourish within the county. From small boutique shops, family-owned restaurants and more, local & small businesses in Palm Beach County thrive.

“Promoting the growth of small and local businesses in Palm Beach County not only energizes the economy but also fosters fresh opportunities, groundbreaking innovations, and lucrative employment prospects for the county’s residents,” said Kelly Smallridge, President and CEO of the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County (BDB), told Invest:. 

For small business owners, networking and getting their name out there is one of the key aspects of a successful business. Here are some upcoming events for small business owners and those who are interested in supporting small businesses.

Vendor Market West Palm Beach – Small business babes

Every second Saturday of every month, local women-owned businesses gather at the Garden District Taproom in West Palm Beach. The events last from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. There, shoppers can also enjoy a weekend beverage, with options of beer, cider, wine, seltzer and more.

CG Business Connections

This weekly event is held every Tuesday as an opportunity to network with local business leaders. Dozens of business owners and professionals gather every week from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The event is held over at Common Grounds Brewery and guests can arrive as early as 7:30 a.m.

Palm Beach Business Owner Dinner 

This event is hosted by Marissa Lipton Events with a goal to create a space where business owners can collaborate and share ideas. It takes place on Aug. 16 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and at the Lola 41 Palm Beach Restaurant. Tickets are $75 to join the networking event.

National Black Business Month Community Mixer

For Black-owned small businesses, this is a great event to mark on the calendar and will be hosted by Ann Marie Sorrell, CEO and President of the Mosaic Group. The event begins at 6 p.m. on Aug. 10th, with cocktails and hors d’oeuvre served. This year’s event will include a fireside chat with Steven Benjamin, senior advisor to the President of the United States and the director of public engagement. Another event will be held later this month on Aug. 24.
