caa Founder & CEO Abby Lindenberg will lead the discussion on Florida’s emergence as a powerful driver in the medtech space.

“What’s happening in Florida’s medtech space goes beyond trends,” said Lindenberg. “We have the talent, the investment appetite, and the clinical infrastructure to move ideas from concept to patient impact faster than ever. MedTech World is where those conversations happen, and I’m proud to help lead them.”

Running from 2:30 to 3:10 p.m. on May 13, “The Florida Advantage: Capital, Clinical & Commercial Strength” will examine how the state’s combination of healthcare capital, leading clinical institutions, and commercial infrastructure is positioning it as a serious force in U.S. medtech.

Lindenberg will be Joined by Andrew Duffell, president of the Research Park at Florida Atlantic University, Mark Glickman, president and CEO of BioFlorida, Inc., Paul Evans, associate vice president of external affairs at the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience, and Barry Katzen, chief medical innovation officer and founder and chief medical executive emeritus at Baptist Health South Florida’s Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute.

A closer look at cardio innovation

Cardiovascular disease remains one of the leading health challenges worldwide, but medtech innovation is rapidly changing how care is delivered. Artificial intelligence, remote monitoring, and integrated digital health platforms are opening new possibilities for earlier detection and continuous care.

The global AI in cardiology market was valued at $1.69 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach $14.83 billion by 2033 — a compound annual growth rate of 31.17% between 2026 and 2033. North America leads this space, accounting for 46.79% of the market in 2025.

Several factors are driving this growth, including advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning, rising demand for earlier and more accurate diagnosis, growing global prevalence of cardiovascular disease, and strategic investment from both startups and established companies.

These developments will anchor the Focus Panel titled “From Hospital to Home: The Cardio Care Continuum.” The discussion will examine how cardiovascular care is evolving beyond traditional clinical settings — exploring remote monitoring technologies, integrated care pathways, and reimbursement-ready digital models that enable a more connected healthcare ecosystem.

Speakers include Maulik Majmudar, co-founder and chief medical officer at Biofourmis, Dr. David Albert, founder and chief medical officer at AliveCor, and Homer Quintana, director of the Center for Rapid Device Translation at Houston Methodist.

Neurotech: From breakthroughs to real-world adoption

Neurotechnology will also take a prominent place in the Focus Panel Series. From brain-computer interfaces to advanced diagnostics and neuromodulation therapies, neurotech continues to expand the boundaries of medtech innovation.

The global neurotech devices market was valued at $15.2 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach $30.3 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 12.2%.

But translating neurotech innovation into clinical practice remains complex. Companies must navigate validation studies, regulatory pathways, funding requirements, and clinical adoption hurdles before solutions can reach patients.

The second Focus Panel, “Scaling Neuro Innovation: Capital, Clinical Adoption & Corporate Pathways,” will explore that journey — examining how companies can align clinical evidence, regulatory readiness, investment, and corporate partnerships to move promising technologies forward.

Speakers joining this session include Christian Espinosa, founder and CEO of Blue Goat Cyber, and Brad Maruca, managing director at Deloitte.

Creating space for deeper industry dialogue

The Focus Panel Series is a new format within the MedTech World program, designed to create more concentrated discussions around high-impact therapeutic areas. By narrowing the lens on specific sectors, the sessions bring together those developing new technologies and those responsible for adopting them.

With expert-led discussions, startup showcases, and networking opportunities, MedTech World North America | West Palm Beach 2026 will serve as a platform for exploring how medtech innovation is being translated into real healthcare solutions.

For innovators, investors, and healthcare leaders working in cardiovascular technologies and neurotechnology, the event offers a chance to connect with peers, exchange insights, and contribute to defining the future of care.
