Invest: North & Central Jersey leadership summit to showcase NJ’s economic diversity

2 min read July 2023 — Solidifying New Jersey’s place as a leader across diverse industries will be the center of discussion at the upcoming Invest: North & Central Jersey 2022-2023 Launch Conference. The event, which will take place on August 24 from 8:00AM – 11:00AM at the Newark Symphony Hall, will celebrate the official release of Capital Analytics’ second edition of Invest: North & Central Jersey.

At the launch conference, regional industry and community leaders will come together to share insights and perspectives on the region’s business climate and how their companies and organizations are addressing key hurdles and maximizing potential. The event will feature three panel discussions that will center on real estate and development, the state’s healthcare and life sciences ecosystem and New Jersey’s blueprint for a prosperous economic future.

Check-in at the conference will begin at 8:00AM with a breakfast networking hour. The opening remarks will begin at 9:00AM, followed by an opening keynote speech from City of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka. This will be succeeded by three robust panel discussions.

The first panel, ‘Cap stacks: How are developers navigating higher rates, higher costs and fluctuating demand in a volatile market?’ will feature Donald Pepe, chair, commercial real estate at Scarinci Hollenbeck, Edwin Cohen, principal partner of Prism Capital Partners and David Greek, managing partner at Greek Development.

The second panel, ‘Research and rules: How current regulations are impacting healthcare innovation and what needs to change,’ includes speakers such as UnitedHealthcare CEO of New Jersey, Pennsylvania & Delaware Paul Marden and Genmab Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer Chris Cozic, among others.

The final panel, ‘Changing landscape: How will current economic trends transform the makeup of New Jersey’s economy and businesses,’ invites Choose New Jersey President & CEO Wesley Mathews, Marcus Randolph, president & CEO of Invest Newark and Steve Vitale, regional president, commercial banking of New Jersey, Pennsylvania & Hudson at Valley Bank.
