Invest: San Antonio launch conference to highlight economic growth and resilience

2 min read January 2024 — The Greater San Antonio area has emerged as one of the fastest-growing economies in the United States due to its job opportunities, affordability, and diverse communities. 

At the official Invest: San Antonio 2023-2024 Launch Conference, the metro area’s holistic approach to enhancing infrastructure, the critical roles of education and healthcare sectors, and San Antonio’s resilience during economic uncertainty will be among the various themes and topics covered during the networking and panel event. Taking place on Thursday, Mar. 4th from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Estancia del Norte, the event will also mark the official release of Capital Analytics’ third edition of Invest: San Antonio.

During the launch conference, local industry and community leaders will come together to discuss the region’s business climate, how they are leveraging its inherent economic strengths to ensure long-term prosperity for all and what the future may look like. The event will feature three panel discussions that will center on economic trends shaping San Antonio’s business community, initiatives to address mental health in education and healthcare needs, and infrastructure and transportation projects in San Antonio and the wider region promoting economic growth. 

“Our third edition of Invest: San Antonio captures a critical juncture in the region’s economy, as market leaders share how companies and organizations across Greater San Antonio’s eight counties are remaining on solid footing as the U.S. economy stabilizes following an era of easy money,” Capital Analytics’ President and CEO Abby Lindenberg said. “Our in-depth economic analysis of the markets we cover, including San Antonio, highlights the opportunities and challenges going forward.”

Check-in at the conference will begin at 8 a.m. followed by opening remarks by Lindenberg at 9 a.m. Presidian Hospitality CEO Charles Leddy will present the three robust panel discussions.

The opening panel, titled “Staying Power: How San Antonio is remaining resilient in a higher interest rate environment and the trends and technology shaping the rest of 2024,” will include panelists Vantage Bank Texas CEO Jeff Sinnott, Parker Hensley, San Antonio market president of Bank of Texas, and Amegy Bank Central Texas Market President April Bailey.

The second panel, “Beyond Innovation: The evolving roles of healthcare and education in improving care delivery and incentivizing better health,” will feature Robert Garza, president of Palo Alto College, Dr. Rodgers Wilson, national medical executive for behavioral health at Evernorth, Cigna Healthcare, and BioBridge Global.

The third and final panel of the program, “Forward Development: The infrastructure investments and developments critical for economic growth and welfare ,” will be moderated by Rob Killen, partner at Killen Griffin Farrimond. Jesus Saenz, director of airports at San Antonio International Airport System, Jeffrey Arndt, president and CEO of VIA Metropolitan Transit, North American Development Bank Managing Director John Beckham, and Joeris General Contractors leadership will be speaking on the panel.
