Tim Evankovich, Chairman, Oasis Senior Advisors
May 2026 — In an interview with Invest:, Tim Evankovich, chairman of Oasis Senior Advisors, discussed the rising demand for senior living advisory services, the company’s focus on coaching and technology, and the launch of its Silver Hope Foundation. “As the population ages, particularly with the baby boomer generation, the need for these services continues to grow,” Evankovich said.
What key changes over the past year have had the greatest impact on Oasis Senior Advisors?
There are a few factors that have impacted us over the course of the last year. Our industry has been dealing with legislation in multiple states that want to create more oversight for what we do, specifically in placement services. That has been a challenge, but also an opportunity to help legislatures understand the important role a knowledgeable advisor can play in helping seniors and their families.
Another is the growing public awareness that, as our country ages — what we call the graying of America — the need for our services is only increasing. This benefits our company, but more importantly, it benefits the seniors we serve, because we are there to help them find the best living and resource options for their situation.
How have those external changes influenced your strategic direction?
These changes have pushed us to be more proactive on the governmental and legislative side, particularly in states where these challenges are emerging. As a board member of the International Franchise Association, I am involved in advancing the American Franchise Act. That legislation is important to help level the playing field and make things fair across the franchise system. These developments have required us to be more engaged and take meaningful action over the past year.
Our President, John Benbrook, serves as Board President of the National Placement & Referral Alliance (NPRA), an organization that actively promotes best practices and a standard code of ethics nationally for the industry, as well as engagement in defining regulatory legislation.
What recent initiatives or expansions stand out, and how are they impacting your service?
One key focus has been strengthening training and coaching. As companies mature, those foundational areas can lose momentum, so we intentionally invested in new one-on-one business coaching and mentoring programs to better support our franchisees and advisors.
Technology is another major area. We have already integrated AI into our training platform, and are exploring how it can drive greater efficiency, both as a franchisor and with our regional and local teams. It is playing an increasing role in helping us provide options and resources to our clients.
What key trends are you seeing in the senior living and advisory space?
Occupancy rates are very high, which is creating challenges for seniors needing community care options. While more assisted living and memory care communities are being built, they are not keeping up with demand.
As the population ages, particularly with the baby boomer generation, the need for these services continues to grow. The challenge is making sure there is enough capacity to meet that demand while maintaining the quality of care seniors deserve. This also expands the need for senior advisors, because they know the availability landscape within their local areas, and are able to help clients focus their search on communities that can meet not just their care and budgetary needs, but their required timeline.
Where do you see opportunities emerging, particularly in Greater Fort Lauderdale?
There are strong opportunities in warm-climate states like Florida, Arizona, and California, where demand is especially high. Development is increasing, but supply continues to trail demand.
Nationally, the 85+ population is set to double by 2040, and Greater Fort Lauderdale is a prime example of this dynamic. The demand for knowledgeable, local advisors is only going to increase. Families navigating this benefit from having someone who knows the local area, which communities are the right fit, which can meet the care needs, timeline, and budget. That’s exactly where we add value.
Our focus remains on making sure seniors and their families are well supported during what is often a difficult transition.
How are you approaching talent and workforce development?
Our work has a strong philanthropic element because we are helping families through challenging situations. While hiring is never easy, once people understand what we do, they often find it very rewarding.
That sense of purpose helps us maintain a solid base of advisors. Our service is free to families, and our advisors are focused on guiding seniors through the process, knowing they are making a real difference in people’s lives every day.
How does Oasis engage with communities beyond placement services?
Our franchisees are active locally, often volunteering, supporting, and in leadership roles in senior-focused and other philanthropic organizations in their communities.
At the national level, we support the Alzheimer’s Association. Last year, most of our network, including franchisees and local teams, participated in walks and fundraisers, and we raised over $100,000 as a National Team with the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
We also recently launched the Silver Hope Foundation, which is focused on helping seniors on Medicaid who need small amounts of financial assistance to transition into assisted living. This is a new initiative, and we are excited about the impact it can have.
What are your key priorities over the next two to three years?
We just want to get stronger and better at what we do, and make sure we’re able to help as many seniors as possible. This is a pivotal moment in a senior’s life when they are deciding what comes next — we empower them to navigate this complex time. Over the next two to three years, our focus is on continued improvement of our model through training, coaching, technology, and expansion to additional local markets.
There will always be a need for guidance in this process. While families can try to navigate it on their own, we provide a more personalized approach by meeting families, touring communities alongside them, and guiding them every step of the way — our purpose is to empower them to navigate the complex realities of aging.
We are uniquely positioned to do this as part of SilverAssist, a broader group of companies focused on this same purpose — connecting families with trustworthy information and guidance, care options, financial assistance, and trusted partners. Our goal is to unite these resources so we can provide comprehensive support and help seniors make the best decisions for their future.
