2 min read October 2023 — Orlando’s world-famous theme parks, from Walt Disney World and Universal Studios to SeaWorld and others, make it a Halloween hotspot. Even the airport got into costume this year, with Orlando International Airport unveiling its first-ever Halloween Horror Nights shop last month — open through Nov. 4. With the new Orlando Brightline station now open as well, the city could see more traffic from South Florida.
Orlando has plenty to keep people entertained, from those seeking spooky and thrilling experiences to family-friendly events. Invest: takes a look at what is happening in Greater Orlando this Halloween season:
Hollywood Horror Nights at Universal Orlando
Orlando’s most famous Halloween attraction for adults and teens is back. Halloween Horror Nights brings cinematic classic and cult favorite Halloween figures.This year there are up to 10 haunted houses with themes ranging from Stranger Things, The Exorcist and The Last of Us. There will also be five scare zones.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
Celebrate Halloween with familiar Disney characters at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. There will be plenty of entertainment with all the classic park rides open, such as Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain and more Magic Kingdom attractions. There will also be Mickey’s “Boo-To-You” Halloween Parade, a parade that starts off with the Headless Horseman marching down the parade. There will also be characters from the Haunted Mansion attraction featured.

Haunting Nights
At the Harry P. Leu Gardens, there will be an immersive Halloween experience at the Leu Gardens’ forests. When guests arrive, they will be greeted by a giant Jack-O-Lantern to begin their fall and Halloween-inspired encounters. Visitors will have to make their way past a troll guarding a bridge, journey through a neon light and many other experiences.

Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld
Howl-O-Scream was voted the No. 1 Halloween event in the nation in 2023 by USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards. This event has nighttime roller coasters, interactive bars and three live entertainment shows. It is for mature audiences as there will be plenty of spooky sights around the event.

SeaWorld Spooktacular
Another SeaWorld event meant for all ages features children trick-or-treating during the daytime and exploring the park’s decorated trails. Kids will get a chance to meet lively characters. All guests are able to wear costumes as well. Other features of this event include a Sesame Street parade, Halloween Storytime with Big Bird and a scavenger hunt.
