2 min read June 2023 — San Antonio is known as a place to experience culture and celebrate events, festivals and holidays. Fourth of July bears no exception as the city prepares to enjoy the Independence Day weekend.

Logistically, domestic travel for the holiday is on the rise, with an expected increase of 2.1% over last year and a 2.4% increase in travel by car. According to AAA Travel’s Senior Vice President Paula Twidale, it’s more family friendly, travelers can control their time, and they also don’t have to worry about inclement weather and missed flights. Additionally, gas prices are down from a national average of $4.80 per gallon last year to $3.50 to $3.60 a gallon currently.

For those that choose to stay local, there are a number of events in San Antonio to celebrate Independence Day. Invest: explores some of the holiday festivities scheduled for the Alamo City.
